Stator-Rotor Contact Force Estimation of Rotating Machine

In turbomachines, dry friction resulting from stator–rotor contacts is a severe problem that may degrade lifetime of the machine or even lead to complete failure. Knowledge about system states and contact forces beneficial for monitoring prevent through, e.g., active magnetic bearings. this paper, nonlinear model derived describes lateral rotor vibrations in case no contact. The elastic behavior shaft modeled based on finite-element method. described by model. An augmented description formulated allows estimation displacements means filtering approaches like an extended Kalman filter. A simulation study was conducted explicitly considered hazardous backward whirl. suggested approach shows suitable performance related both state force estimation.
